4th of July means hotdogs, American flags, gratitude for our great nation, and family fun. What’s the best way to celebrate? FIREWORKS! Whether you’re looking to attend a festival or watch from the comfort of your car, there are many locations for fireworks in the Indianapolis area. 

With the 4th being a Thursday, you’ll hear others celebrating with fireworks throughout the week. A few will start the festivities on Wednesday. This list will highlight shows taking place on Thursday, July 4th. Get ready for “boom boom pow” with these fun shows!

CarmelFest

9:45PM | Carmel

FREE Admission | $25 for KidsZone wristbands 

Join in the festivities at CarmelFest, a two-day festival on July 3rd and 4th! Fireworks take place on July 4th at 9:45pm and can be seen from most vantage points in downtown Carmel. Watch the show and listen to the synchronized music on WHJE 91.3. Other events at CarmelFest include a parade, the Freedom Run, a KidsZone with rides and games, music performances, and more. Star Spangled Symphony

8PM | Conner Prairie

Tickets prices vary | $13 child lawn, $32 adult lawn | Other options available 

If you haven’t experienced Symphony on the Prairie yet, the Star Spangled Symphony is an iconic Indianapolis July 4th experience! Kids can play while you enjoy a picnic and listen to incredible music by the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. The show ends with real cannons and a fireworks show. Tickets are required for this event, and it’s always a hit, so act fast! Concerts take place on the 3rd, 4th, and 5th. Lots of options to fit your schedule and experience this spectacular show!

Freedom Blast with the Indianapolis Indians

Game @ 6:15PM | Victory Field

Ticket prices vary | $13 – $40

Take me out to the ball game! Every year, the Indianapolis Indians (minor league baseball team) hosts Freedom Fest, a fireworks show following their game on July 4th. Lots of giveaways, games, and ballpark food to celebrate USA’s birthday. My family loves sitting in the lawn and watching the game while lounging on a blanket. Seats are also available for purchase.

IPL Downtown Freedom Fest

10PM | Indiana War Memorials

FREE Admission

Indy’s largest fireworks display! See fireworks set off from the top of the Regions Tower. Lots of fun events leading up to the show at 10PM, including live entertainment from the Indianapolis Colts Stage, fun in the Royal Pin Kids’ Area, food trucks, and more! 

Want a more low-key night? You’ll find lots of areas for parking downtown where you can enjoy the show from your car. Many will bring lawn chairs, blankets, and coolers to set up by their cars. Relax with your family and enjoy the show!

Westfield Rocks the 4th

10PM | Grand Park

FREE

Join the city of Westfield for an afternoon of celebrating the great US of A! If you haven’t visited Grand Park yet, it should be on your list! This 400 acre sports campus has 26 baseball/softball fields and 31 multi-purpose fields. Perfect for all sports fanatics! 

Events include car show, hot dog eating contest, balloon rides, concerts, kids zone, and more! All aspects are free and open to the public, and there’s plenty of parking near the event space.

Blast on the Bridge

10PM | Geist Reservoir

FREE Admission | Food available for purchase

View this fantastic fireworks show over Geist Reservoir! Events take place on the Fall Creek Road Bridge. For those who just want to watch the show, you can park anywhere around Geist Reservoir for great views. Check where street parking may be permitted to avoid ticketing! But side streets should give you an awesome view of the show!

Noblesville Parade & Fireworks

10PM | Forest Park in Noblesville

FREE

Join in the Noblesville tradition dating back to 1997! The day begins with a parade and the fun continues with live music, games, food, and other activities. End the night with a fireworks show that lights up the night sky. Event is free to all and fireworks viewing is available throughout the park.
